In March 1991 Continental Airlines sent me to Honduras for a couple of weeks to make photos for them. One day in La Ceiba, my driver said he knew about a festival in a fishing village about an hour away and so away we went.
Visually the festival wasn’t much to see but the people were really friendly. The adults were having fun, drinking locally made rum (strong) and broiling freshly caught fish (delicious) and older kids were running around. At one point I turned around from the action and saw this one young girl standing in the doorway of her house taking a break from her chores to watch the action. I couldn’t believe how beautiful both she and the colors were. This one frame made the whole day worthwhile.
